“He Locked His Pregnant Wife In A Dog Shed — Then The Mafia Boss Did The Unthinkable” DARK ROMANCE.

Chapter 2

She expected anger when the kennel door opened, but Adrian Voss offered none. He stepped aside, allowing a guard to remove the lock completely, then gestured for her to stand. Snow drifted across the courtyard as the metal door swung wide, releasing trapped heat into the freezing air.

Her legs trembled from the cold and from months of confinement. Yet she rose slowly, one hand supporting her back, the other resting over her belly. Damon remained on the balcony, watching with forced composure. Guests had begun to gather behind him, drawn by the unusual disturbance outside. Whispering replaced laughter.

Adrian did not look at the audience. His attention stayed on her — not with softness, not with sympathy, but with careful evaluation, as if confirming a detail in a report. “You will not return her inside,” he said quietly. The statement was directed at no one in particular, yet everyone understood it as law.

One of his security men stepped forward, positioning himself near the kennel to prevent interference. Another approached Damon, requesting he come downstairs. Damon hesitated only briefly before descending the steps, trying to maintain authority as he approached Adrian. “This is overstepping,” he said. “She is my wife. Domestic matters do not involve you.”

Adrian finally turned toward him. “She is seven months pregnant,” he replied evenly, “and she was confined like equipment.” The words were not raised. They did not need to be. Several staff members lowered their eyes.

Damon attempted a smile. “It was temporary discipline.”

Adrian studied him for a long moment. “Debt agreements are not temporary,” he said finally. “Neither are consequences.” The reminder was subtle but unmistakable.

He stepped slightly closer to her, careful not to crowd her space. “Are you injured?” he asked. She shook her head, though her voice was too faint to answer clearly. The cold had slowed her movements, and fear had tightened her throat. Still, she felt no immediate threat from the man standing before her, only control.

Damon noticed the exchange and stepped forward. “She is fine. There is no reason for this spectacle.”

Adrian’s gaze returned to him, sharper now. “There will be no further spectacles,” he said. “Remove the cameras from this courtyard.” Two security personnel immediately moved to comply. The shift was visible to everyone present. Orders no longer flowed from the mansion. They originated from the man in the snow.

Damon’s mother, Margaret, appeared at the doorway, irritation written across her face. She began to speak, but one brief look from Adrian stopped her. Not intimidation — authority.

Adrian extended a hand toward Elena, not touching, only offering stability. After a pause, she accepted. His grip was firm but careful as he guided her away from the kennel and toward the center of the courtyard, placing himself between her and the mansion entrance.

“This property will be secured,” he said. “No one approaches without authorization.”

Damon laughed nervously. “You cannot take control of my estate.”

Adrian’s expression remained unchanged. The statement hung in the cold air. Behind him, his vehicles idled quietly, engines low and steady. Guards stood in disciplined formation. Adrian finally looked back at her, assessing her condition once more. Then he spoke a final instruction for the night.

“She will leave with my protection.”

No argument followed, only silence. And inside the mansion, for the first time, Damon realized the balance of power had shifted permanently.
